The Buckaroo Ball Foundation Fund, a fund of the New Mexico Community Foundation (NMCF), has awarded $112,000 in grants to 13 nonprofit organizations in Santa Fe County that offer programs and services for children at risk. (click for more information)

Wings for Hope is a diverse group of women and men from Santa Fe whose common bonds are the love of motorcycling and a highly motivated desire to help the disadvantaged children of Santa Fe.

Organized and incorporated as a non-profit New Mexico corporation in 1999, Wings for Hope consists of a board of founding members and operational officers elected biannually from the membership. Wings for Hope is recognized by the New Mexico State Attorney Generals office and with the IRS as a 501-C-3 non profit organization.

Membership is open to the public. Our organization consists of Founding Members, Board of Directors, Participating Members, and Volunteers. Volunteers are always welcome. All Wings for Hope members and volunteers are on a volunteer basis. Our meeting space is donated, and so are some of our office supplies. Our only out of pocket expenses are for some of our office supplies, and some minor advertising costs. We also purchase our t-shirts and other promotional items that are sold at out events. These expenses are not out of pocket because the proceeds from these sales goes back to the children. This allows Wings for Hope to return virtually all raised funds to the children in our community who need it most.

Wings for Hope currently presents two public events each year, Spring and Fall events. Wings for Hope now sponsors the annual Toys 4 Tots toy and food run at our Fall event. We are currently working on having more events throughout the year as well. Our events consist of live music and other entertainment, food, door prizes, raffles, auctions, and poker runs. All items for these fund raising events are generously donated to Wings for Hope, along with security for our events. The proceeds from all of these events and the generous donations received from local and non local businesses and private individuals have enabled us to assist over 4,000 children in the past 11 years.

The number of children we can assist relies on the funds we have available. Our goal is to continue to reach as many children as possible, and we will only be able to obtain this goal with the continued support of businesses and individuals that realize that there is a continued and increasing need for our help.
